- An open study area (18 tables; 78 seats)

- North Carolina is one of the few states to provide this kind of electronic networking to all types of libraries in the state. NC LIVE is a statewide cooperative program among the NC Community College System Learning Resources Centers, the University of NC System libraries, NC private college libraries, and NC public libraries. The purpose of NC LIVE is to achieve the following goals:
- Ensure ongoing universal access to a core group of reference and research materials available in electronic format, regardless of geographic location or time
- Improve access to holdings housed at libraries and archives statewide through an expanded program of resource sharing and electronic delivery of information through a grant program administered by the State Library of North Carolina
- Provide the technical infrastructure necessary to provide access to online resources
- Expand access to state government information
- Assure that library staff statewide have the knowledge and skills to help users access the resources of NC LIVE
