Searching the Online Library Catalog

The online library catalog is used to search the items located at the 44 North Carolina community colleges that share this database. When you search the catalog, you not only have the ability to search for resources at Pitt Community College Library, you can search the resources located at community college libraries across the state.

Accessing the Online Library Catalog

  3. Click on "LIBRARY CATALOG."

There are different types of searches that you can use to find items in the library catalog. When you first access the catalog, the default search is a "words or phrase" search that will search for any word(s) you enter in the search box. You do not have to use capital letters or punctuation.

Keyword Search

You can type any word or combination of words in the text box. It's best to use only one or two words to start your search (do not use words such as "the" or "and" at the beginning). The search results will be all the records that include the words you typed.

Get a Book that PCC Library Does NOT Have

Books that the library does not have can be borrowed from other libraries in most cases. This process is called Interlibrary Loan. Keep in mind that it takes time (1-2 weeks) for items to arrive at PCC Library. This may not be an option if you need books immediately.
