Global Resources

This guide is a selective bibliography of sources that PCC students can use in order to gain information on globalization and world cultures, especially in the areas of business and health. If you need more specific information, please ask a librarian for help.

Library Online Databases

Nearly all of the Library’s online databases include information relating to any number of global affairs and topics. The key to finding the information is in how you form your search.  It also helps to have an idea about what types of information are available in each database. Below is a selective list of database titles with search tips and sample searches.

You may want to browse the entire A to Z List of library databases in order identify subject databases relating directly to your topic (i.e. Literature Criticism Online, Health Source, Criminal Justice Periodicals, etc.).

Passwords are needed to access these resources from off-campus.

Index of core nursing and allied health journals.

Search tip:
 
Under the heading "Limit Your Results" look for "Journal Subset."
You can choose to limit your results to those dealing with certain areas of the world: Africa, Europe, Asia, Australia & New Zealand, Canada, Mexico & Central/South America, UK & Ireland, and the USA.
