Career Readiness Certification (CRC)
Many local and national employers are now recommending, and in some cases requiring, Career Readiness Certification for those seeking employment; are you Career Ready?
How can you prove you have the necessary skills to be successful in the workplace? How can you distinguish yourself from other candidates? How can you increase your opportunity for career change and advancement?
The Industrial Technologies Department of PCC is giving you an opportunity to receive a nationally recognized Career Readiness Certificate for free.
Minimum requirements are second year students with 30 semester hours completed in one of the following programs of study: Computer-Integrated Machining, Industrial Management, Industrial Systems, Mechanical Engineering, or Welding.
What are the WorkKeys & the Career Readiness Certificate?
The N.C. Career Readiness Certificate is a portable, nationally recognized credential that can help individuals get the job they want. Based on ACT’s proven WorkKeys system the CRC gives jobseekers proof of their workplace skills. WorkKeys, a system of real world workplace assessments can act both as a tool to increase individual’s employability skills and give employers the tools necessary to plan, screen, select, train and promote the appropriate candidates. Test results can be beneficial information for many groups and organizations such as Public School Systems, local and federal government, employers, and economic strategists. Through WorkKeys an individual can be assessed on a wide array of workplace skills. Individuals can be assessed on Communication Skills, Problem Solving Skills, and Interpersonal Skills.
The Industrial Technologies Department will provide free assessment in the following areas to gain individual certification:
The links provided above will give you access to sample questions for each area of the assessment.
