High School Students

This section of the website is dedicated to high school students interested in dually enrolling at Pitt Community College as a Career and College Promise (CCP) student in pursuit of a health sciences certificate, diploma, or degree

Career and College Promise

The purpose of CCP is to offer structured opportunities for qualified high school students to dually enroll in Pitt Community College courses that provide pathways that lead to a certificate, diploma, or degree as well as provide entry-level jobs skills. For high school students interested in health sciences, several pre-health sciences pathways are available (refer to curriculum sheets).

Curriculum Sheets

The curriculum sheets below were created specifically for CCP students. Curriculum sheets identify a proposed high school curriculum and the requirements necessary to apply for and successfully complete a health sciences program (i.e., application period, start semester, prerequisite and course requirements, etc.). Click on the program name to view the respective curriculum sheet (pdf format).

Admissions

For more information on how to apply to Pitt Community College as a CCP student, contact the CCP office at 252-493-7411. Please note that a high school student accepted to the College as a CCP student has not applied for or been accepted into any health sciences program.

Health sciences programs have special admissions requirements. These are in addition to those completed for the College. CCP students should carefully review the curriculum sheet for their health sciences program(s) of interest to determine the requirements necessary to apply for and successfully complete the program(s).

CCP students that have not applied for or been accepted into a health sciences program at the time of high school graduation may continue taking classes at the College. However, they will no longer be considered a CCP student. They will become an Associate in General Education (AGE) major and be assigned a Success Navigator to assist with ongoing advising needs until accepted into a health sciences program.
