Mission

The mission of the Respiratory Therapy Program at Pitt Community College is to educate and empower graduates with the knowledge and skills to be competent and caring advanced-level respiratory therapists.

Goals

Upon completion of the Respiratory Therapy Program, students will demonstrate the ability to comprehend, apply, and evaluate clinical information relevant to their roles as advanced-level respiratory therapists.

Upon completion of the Respiratory Therapy Program, students will demonstrate the technical proficiency in all the skills necessary to fulfill their roles as advanced-level respiratory therapists.

Upon completion of the Respiratory Therapy Program, students will demonstrate professional behavior consistent with employer expectations as advanced-level respiratory therapists.

The Respiratory Therapy program will promote the development of leadership skills, global awareness, and principles of life-long learning to assure continued competence.

The Respiratory Therapy Program will provide students learning and educational opportunities that prepare them for employment in respiratory care.

The Respiratory Therapy Program will provide a supportive learning environment to ensure students successfully complete the program.

The Respiratory Therapy Department will strive to provide educational, technological, human, and physical resources to ensure quality respiratory care education.
