Steps to Becoming a Bulldog

While your orientation session will cover important aspects of being a new student, there are steps you need to take prior to attending your divisional orientation session.  Review the following steps carefully and contact orientation@my.pittcc.edu if you have any questions.

Placement Test Exceptions

Students who meet the following criteria can be exempt from taking the placement test. For operating hours, testing information and study resources, please visit www.pittcc.edu/academics/admissions/placement-testing or contact the testing office at 252-493-7561 with any questions. Official test scores can be sent to the PCC Placement Testing Office by fax at 252-321-4592. If transferable credit has been successfully completed at another institution with proof of completion submitted on an official transcript to the PCC Registrar, or if the placement test has already been completed at another institution within the last three years and the scores have been successfully received by the PCC Placement Testing office, the placement test can be waived.

A) Math Placement Test is not required if:
     a. SAT score: 500+ on Math
     b. ACT score: 23+ on Math
     c. AP or Transfer credit for College Algebra
B) English Placement Test is not required if:
     a. SAT score: 500+ on Verbal/Critical Reading
     b. ACT score: 20+ average on English and Reading
     c. AP or Transfer credit for Freshman Composition
C.) Computer Skills Placement test is not required if:
     a. SAT score: 500+ on Math
     b. ACT score: 23+ on Math
     c. Transfer credit for "Intro to Computers" coursework

Steps for Orientation Registration

  1. Visit the PCC Orientation page at www.pittcc.edu/academics/student-orientation
  2. Click the Registration link and select the Division Orientation date that matches the Academic Division listed at the top of your acceptance letter.
  3. You'll receive a confirmation email with important instructions regarding your orientation date once your registration is complete. (Send questions to orientation@my.pittcc.edu)

Complete and Submit Your FAFSA

Visit www.fafsa.ed.gov to complete your application online.  If you have questions regarding your Financial Aid application, please contact the PCC Financial Aid office at 252-493-7339.

Steps to Accessing Your myPittCC Account

  1. Visit www.pittcc.edu
  2. Click the "myPittCC" link at the top of the page
  3. Enter your Login ID. Your Login ID is your First Initial, Middle Initial, Last Name, and Last three (3) digits of your Student ID number.  Your Student ID number is listed on your acceptance letter.
    • Example: John Michael Doe 0098765, would have a Login ID of jmdoe765
  4. Enter your password. Your password is your First, Middle and Last Initials and your 7 digit Student ID number.
    • Example: John Michael Doe 0098765, would have a User ID of jmdoe0098765
  5. Once you've logged in, click 'Menu' at the top of the page and access the 'Control Panel' to change your password to a word of your choosing.
