Professional Biography

Dr. Tabitha R. Miller is the current Director of the Title III Grant project at Pitt Community College. She earned her PhD in Rhetoric, Writing, and Professional Communication from East Carolina University in 2014. Her research centers on Culture and Discourse within Rhetoric and Composition. Tabitha earned her Master's degree in Multicultural Literature from ECU in 2005. The focus of her research was Belizean Literature, specifically researching the Belizean poet Yasser Musa and connecting his writing within the concepts of Cultural Theory. More recently, Dr. Miller's focus has been on global contexts within the classroom. She co-developed the PCC Scholars of Global Distinction Program and the PCC Belize Study Abroad Service Learning Experience. Dr. Miller has presented at several conferences on developmental education, composition strategies, and global curriculum pedagogy. Throughout her teaching tenure, she has written for and assisted with the management of educational grants. Most recently, she has been the Perkins Grant coordinator for PCC.
