The Barber School program at Pitt Community College is a non-credit program within the Continuing Education Division. The program prepares students to sit for the NC Barber Licensing examination. Classes are available during the day as well as the evening. All classes are taught at the Altitude Academy located at 3700 Charles Blvd. No financial aid is available but the program is very affordable!

The enrollment process for Barber School requires several steps due to new state requirements and requires several weeks to complete prior to the first day of class. Registration for all classes will be done a first-come, first-serve basis.
Tuition payments of $186.25 are due at the time of registration. This amount must be paid in a check, money order, or credit/debit card. We DO NOT accept cash. A money order made out to the NC Barber School for $25 is due at the time of registration. This is the permit for allowing students' hours to be reported. No permit - No hours!
* As of September 1, 2013 all applicants for Barber School must obtain an FBI Criminal Record Summary Report. This will require you to go to the Sheriff's office and get your fingerprints made. Call the Sheriff's office for available dates and times at 252-902-2800. The cost for fingerprints is $10.
Your book is a cost of $195 and your kit is a cost of $300. The kit/book bundle must be purchased prior to or on the first day of class for $495. NO EXCEPTIONS. You must also purchase uniforms (black scrubs) prior to the first day of class.
