What is the Course Recycling?
Course Recycling is the process in Blackboard that reuses the same Blackboard course each semester but does not maintain & store student data. Therefore, we will no longer have multiple copies of the same course.
How does Course Recycling affect you?
Instructor will now be able to:
- have more control of when their students can access the course.
- avoid data loss due to course copying errors.
- work with course cartridges with less problems. (Many won’t need to be re-downloaded every semester.)
- take advantage of the way BB is intended to be used & should result in fewer problems and support issues.
- take advantage of improved system performance by freed up server space.
What is your role in Course Recycling?
With Course Recycling Instructor’s responsibility will change in the following ways:
- Instructors will now be responsible for maintaining and storing all student records. (tests, assignments, quizzes…etc)
- Instructors will now be responsible for enrolling students into their course(s).
