Basketball's Winning Streak Halted at Eight
The PCC basketball team reeled off eight straight wins before falling to visiting Tidewater Community College Jan. 4, 98-89.
James Nolan led the Bulldogs in scoring with 17 points to go along with four rebounds. Dee Robinson, Jaquan Blount and Mike Tyson scored 15 points apiece for Pitt. Tyson added 12 rebounds for a double-double, while Robinson added nine assists.
PCC trailed 46-40 at halftime against Tidewater. A 10-2 run at the start of the second half gave TCC a 14-point advantage before the Bulldogs mounted a furious comeback to tie the game at 62-all with 12:40 remaining.
After several lead changes, Tidewater took the lead for good at 90-88 with 2:20 to go and held PCC to just one point the rest of the way.
Friday's non-conference loss dropped the Bulldogs to 8-2 overall, heading into their Region X Conference matchup against Johnston Community College in the Charles Coburn Center.
