Staff requirements
Our experienced staff is trained in the development and education of young children. Lead teachers are hired with a minimum education of an A.A.S degree in Early Childhood Education. It is their responsibility to create an atmosphere in which learning can take place and in which each child‘s particular needs are met. The staff of Pitt Community College Preschool Laboratory consists of a director, classroom teachers, teacher assistants, a cook, a secretary, and numerous student interns from PCC and ECU Work-study students.
Pitt Community College students participating in the Preschool Laboratory, training through professional experiences with children, are supervised in planning and implementation of activities by the faculty in Early Childhood Education and the Preschool staff.
