Cruiser Announce
Requests to announce PCC-sponsored activities:
Any current faculty, staff, or students of Pitt Community College that wish to have announcements regarding official PCC activities that pertain to campus as a whole placed on CampusCruiser should email the announcement request to cruiser_announce@webmail.pittcc.edu (that's cruiser_announce). It must be sent from a current PCC GroupWise or PCC CampusCruiser account in order to validate eligibility.
These announcements will be posted if they meet the criteria of the Mission Statement, the Network Acceptable Use Policy, and the Canvassing/Peddling/Solicitation Policy (see the PCC Catalog, page 102 - implies the "virtual campus" of CampusCruiser as well as "physical" campus). Include the follwing:
- The display title for your announcement
- The announcement itself
- The group(s) to which it pertains. Choices include one or more of the following:
- all PCC faculty
- all PCC staff
- all PCC students
- PCC guests visiting PCC's CampusCruiser site (open to public)
- one or more of the above groups
- Announcements specifically displayed to faculty and staff only will also be emailed to their CampusCruiser accounts to assure coverage to those employees that may be only involved with the email portion of CampusCruiser.
- Announcements intended for students will be posted to faculty and staff as well.
- We will run your announcement for two weeks or up to the date of the event, depending on the announcement and its timing considerations.
- Assuming we do not need more information from you regarding your announcement, we should have your announcement up within one business day of receiving it via email.
Requests for Public Service Announcements (PSAs) :
PSA requests from non-PCC individuals and groups will be posted if they meet the criteria of the PCC Public Service Announcement guidelines. PSA requests should be emailed to cruiser_announce@webmail.pittcc.edu (that's cruiser_announce).
- Assuming we do not need more information from you regarding your announcement, we should have your announcement up within one business day of receiving it via email.
- We will run your announcement for two weeks or up to the date of the event, depending on its timing considerations.
- PSAs will be posted in the "Public Service Announcements" section on the CampusCruiser homepage only; not emailed to anyone.
Did you know? Factoids
This is an outlet for those helpful pieces of information (factoids) that seem to be plentiful at Pitt Community College from its staff, faculty, and students. It's called "Did You Know?" and is on the Cruiser homepage (the page you see before you log in or under the "Campus" tab after login). You'll find it on the right (between the news channels).
This area is for those short pearls of wisdom and common interest (again, "factoids") that aren't really official school news or official campus-wide announcements . . . sort of "good to know" rather than "business of the day". We welcome tips and tricks of all kinds that are beneficial to the campus' physical, emotional, financial, and overall well-being (no sales pitches or soapboxes, please).
Submissions are the same as getting main campus announcements - just send it to cruiser_announce@webmail.pittcc.edu. At that point, we will find the best place for your message to the campus based on its subject matter and intended audience.
