Arts & Sciences Advising Center Now Open
Pitt Community College’s Arts and Sciences Student Success Center held a grand opening June 7 to provide academic advising services to university transfer and pre-health sciences students.
Walk-in service at the center is now available year-round. Services are available Mondays, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Tuesday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The center, which is located in the Raymond Reddrick Building on PCC’s main campus, is dedicated to first semester students in the associate in general education (pre-health science) and university transfer programs in conjunction with the College Student Success (ACA 111 and ACA 122) course.
Upon entering the center, students must login using their PCC student IDs. An advisor will then meet one-one-one with each student to help him or her create a Student Educational Plan, which allows students to plan course schedules on a semester-by-semester basis.
The Student Success Center also provides resources and assistance with official withdrawals, career exploration, registration and changes of major.
