PCC Orchestra Returns to Stage Oct. 23
Michael Stephenson Takes Over Reins as Conductor
WINTERVILLE—Under the direction of conductor Michael Stephenson, the Pitt Community College Symphony Orchestra will return to action Oct. 23 at Reimage Church, located at 3950 Victory Lane in Winterville.
According to Stephenson, the orchestra will perform works by Vivaldi, Mozart, Ralph Vaughn-Williams, Edvard Greig, Kenneth Alford, and Gilbert and Sullivan.
Tickets for the concert, which begins at 7:30 p.m., are $7 for adults. Students who present a valid student identification card will be admitted at no charge.
Stephenson said children are encouraged to attend the performance in their Halloween costumes. He explained that there will be a costume contest during the concert with the winner having the opportunity to direct the orchestra as it performs Michael Jackson's "Thriller."
