2nd Annual Men's Day Scheduled for Jan. 24
WINTERVILLE—The Pitt Community College Men's Resource Center is sponsoring "Men's Day" this week to help give male students on campus the tools they need for personal and academic success.
The event will take place Thursday in the Craig F. Goess Student Center, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Organizers say the program will offer attendees a chance to socialize and learn more about the resources and activities available to them on campus and in the community.
As part of “Men’s Day,” students from the Altitude Academy of Barbering will offer free 15-minute haircuts, beard trims, facials and steam towels. Numerous other vendors, including Fit for Life, Greenville SEED (Support Economic and Entrepreneurial Development) and the East Carolina University Department of Admissions, are also expected to participate.
In addition to a DJ, “Men’s Day” will also feature several drawings for prizes, including a PlayStation 3 or XBOX 360 video game, free oil changes, and gift cards to local restaurants.
PCC’s Men’s Resource Center is a campus resource created to increase the enrollment and retention of men at the college. Each year, the center organizes a variety of events that help male students become better connected with the college.
