Host of Activities Planned for Earth Day Fair
WINTERVILLE—Pitt Community College’s annual Earth Day Fair will take place April 17 in and around the college’s Craig F. Goess Student Center.
Organized by the PCC Sustainability Committee, the event will take place from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. It is open to the community, and there is no cost to attend.
Donna Bivans, a PCC science instructor and Sustainability Committee member, said the fair’s purpose it to “facilitate connections between students, community members, farmers, and local businesses and entrepreneurs.”
“Supporting and building relationships between consumers and local businesses is the key to both economic and environmental stability,” she added.
Bivans says this year’s Earth Day celebration will feature sustainable products from local businesses, recycled arts and crafts, and an on-campus farmer’s market.
“The Sustainability Committee has a great event planned …,” Bivans said. “It will be even better than last year.”
