WINTERVILLE—Jessica Jaimes, director of PCC Global, has been selected to receive a scholarship to attend the 2014 National Association of Foreign Student Advisers (NAFSA) Annual Conference & Expo in San Diego next month.
Jaimes, who has overseen Pitt Community College’s international education efforts since joining PCC last summer, was the only applicant from North Carolina to receive a $1,000-NAFSA Impact Scholarship this year. The funding covers the entire fee for the conference, which will take place at the San Diego Convention Center May 25-30.
“Part of PCC’s mission is to educate and empower people for success in a global economy,” Jaimes said. “The NAFSA scholarship is a direct result of that commitment, and I will be very proud to represent our institution at next month’s international conference.”
NAFSA was founded in 1948 to promote professional development of U.S. college and university officials responsible for assisting and advising foreign students who came to study in the United States after World War II.
