2015 Bulldog Run Set for April 12 on Campus

The PCC Center for Student Activities has scheduled the 2015 Bulldog Run for April 12. Proceeds from the race will benefit student clubs and organizations at the college.

WINTERVILLE—The Pitt Community College Center for Student Activities is seeking runners for the 2015 Bulldog Run, a fundraising 5K race and one-mile fun run/walk scheduled to take place on the PCC campus April 12.

The event, which will raise money for 10 student clubs and organizations at the college, will begin at 6:45 p.m. with the 5K race. The fun run/walk will start shortly thereafter.

“It will be a fun and exciting event, and we welcome everyone to join us—families included,” said PCC Student Activities Coordinator Katelynn James. “In addition to the races, we will have a kids’ area available for the younger ones to hang out and play.”

James noted that the 5K course at PCC is USATF–certified and that both the 5K and fun run/walk will take place on flat pavement. Chip scoring will be provided by Run the East.

Following the 5K race, prizes will be awarded to the top runners in eight different age categories.

Runners planning to compete in the 5K may register online at www.runtheeast.com or sign up on race day near Lewis Field House (part of Minges-Overton Baseball Complex) between 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. The 5K entry fee is $25, while the cost to participate in the fun run/walk is $10.

James said Bulldog Run activities begin at 4 p.m. on race day. She added that all race participants will receive free tickets to attend that day’s baseball doubleheader between PCC and Guilford Technical Community College. First pitch of game one at Minges-Overton Baseball Complex is set for 12 p.m.

For more information on the race and sponsorship opportunities, contact James at (252) 493-7440 or kjames@email.pittcc.edu.
