Orchestra to Perform Holiday Concert Dec. 8

WINTERVILLE—The Pitt Community College Symphony Orchestra will present its annual Holiday Concert Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. at Oakmont Baptist Church in Greenville.

The concert will feature music from the movies “Frozen” and “The Polar Express.” It will also include several selections from Handel’s “Messiah,” featuring soprano vocalist Caitlin Shirley, who is a PCC instructor.

Other PCC ensembles scheduled to perform include the PCC Choral, Diminished Impressions, and Elements of Praise. Special guest Emery Davis will perform “The Christmas Song” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” in a Frank Sinatra tribute.

“This should be a program that the entire family should enjoy,” said PCC Music Instructor R. Michael Stephenson, who conducts the orchestra.

Though the concert is free to the community, donations to support future orchestra endeavors will be accepted.

For more information, contact Stephenson at rstephenson@email.pittcc.edu or (252) 493-7493.
