Priority Registration for Spring ’16 Continues

WINTERVILLE—Priority Registration for the 2016 Spring Semester at Pitt Community College will continue at the college through Dec. 7.

Joanne Ceres, PCC Dean of Student Services and Enrollment Management, said continuing students began registering Nov. 9 in order of credits passed. Registration for transfer and new students began 10 days later, she said.

Ceres noted that new first-time freshman students must attend a New Student Orientation session before registering for classes. The college established the orientation program to help new students make a successful transition to PCC when spring classes start Jan. 7.

“As a new student on campus, the best way to begin your education at PCC is to attend an orientation session and receive the tools needed to be successful,” said PCC Student Orientation Coordinator John Carrere. “These events are mandatory for first-time freshmen and are designed only for students planning to enter the Spring 2016 term.”

The next orientation session, which will cover academic information, student services and financial aid, will take place Nov. 30 in the Craig F. Goess Student Center. Students may register for New Student Orientation by visiting the Student Orientation page.

Ceres said students who sign up for courses during priority registration must pay for them by Dec. 16 at 5 p.m. in order to avoid having their schedules purged.
