Fine Art Student Takes 2nd in Schwa Show

Aaron Ellis won second place in the Schwa Show with this submission.

WINTERVILLE—Just months from graduation, Pitt Community College student Aaron Ellis has been honored for his artwork.

The 23-year-old Ellis, an Associate in Fine Art major from Wilson, took second in the Schwa Show currently on display at the Pitt County Arts Council in Greenville. The show, a national juried competition recognizing excellence in fine arts and crafts, opened Jan. 5 and will run until Jan. 29.

“The Schwa Show is a national show and the caliber of work shown each year is really stellar, so this is quite an accomplishment for Aaron,” said Charity Valentine, department chair of the Associate in Fine Art Program at PCC.
