PCC InSight Has Returned!

 

The PCC InSight monthly video series highlights key programs making an impact on students and the community. The February 2014 edition highlights the Automotive Systems Technology program's strong bond with a NASCAR legend and a one-of-a-kind project.

TASC Program Has New Home on Campus

PCC cut the ribbon on a new home for tutoring services Jan. 27.

The Tutoring and Academic Success Center has a new home on campus. PCC administrators cut the ribbon on the new facility Jan. 27.

• The college released its 2013 Fall Semester Honor RollDean's List and list of graduates in January.

• The PCC Alumni Association recently launched an online community intended to help former PCC students and graduates reconnect with each other and support their alma mater. (READ MORE) (VIDEO)

PCC Sweeps Surry, Methodist for 4-0 Start

Sophomore second baseman Brooke Bell homered in PCC Softball's season-opening victory over Surry Community College.

FAYETTEVILLE—Pitt Community College broke open a tie game with a pair of runs in the top of the eighth and held on in the bottom half of the inning to sweep a doubleheader from Methodist University Sunday with a 5-4 victory.

Tied 3-3 at the end of seven, PCC sophomore Brittany Baker singled off Amanda Dickson to bring home Kayleigh Brueck in the extra frame. Taylor Johnson scored moments later, when Holly Roberts reached on an error, giving the Bulldogs a 5-3 advantage going into the bottom of the eighth.

February 2014 Athletics Quick Hitters ...

• Josh Cox couldn't connect on a heavily-contested shot in the paint as time expired Feb. 7 as PCC dropped a heartbreaker to Patrick Henry Community College, 66-65. That leaves the Bulldogs at 14-8 overall, 9-5 in the Region X Conference, heading into Thursday's 2013-14 home finale against Louisburg College at 7 p.m. (2013-14 SCHEDULE)

• PCC Baseball is off to a 2-0 start, having swept a doubleheader from Wake Tech on Feb. 9 at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary. After taking game one by an 8-0 count, the Bulldogs topped the Eagles in game two, 5-3.  (2014 SCHEDULE)
