Residency & Financial Aid
An international student present in the U.S. on a student visa (F) is considered a non-resident for the purpose of tuition payments. Length of stay, payment of taxes, or ownership of property, in themselves, do not qualify an international student for the status of legal resident or domicile. Neither federal nor state student financial aid is offered to an international student. Therefore, he/she is required to submit an official bank statement (in US dollars) certifying that the international student has sufficient funds to cover each year of expenses.
